What Does It Matter?

Lie or truth, what does it matter?
Though if asked, one'd prefer the latter;
"Why?", you ask, but isn't it obvious?
This is simply human nature.


Food or drink, what does it matter?
In reality, both makes you fatter;
"No!", you scream in denial,
As you fail the diet trial.

Life or death, what does it matter?
In the end, everything still shatters;
From a broken shard to a broken window,
All that's left is a single shadow.


Mystery or not, what does it matter?
This poem's nothing but a patter;
When compared to rich men's chatter,
One hears a kid, what does that matter?
